I am a Dolby Vision certified SDR/HDR Colorist currently based in Budapest.
I'm finished as an Editor with a Master’s and a Bachelor's degree in film. I fully understand the whole post-production process, from camera to finish. I am confident with Blackmagic’s, Adobe’s, Avid’s, Pomfort’s, and other company’s tools. Creating and QC dailies, deliverables for Netflix, and coordinating the post flow if needed.
My Color Science and the basics of Resolve workshops I created were visited by more than two hundred individuals throughout the past five years. I’m happy to expand my knowledge further with Cullen Kelly on personal training weekly.
My main goal is to become a member of the HDR department, grading series, commercials, and features, but I feel just as confident surrounded by cameras.
Currently specializing in AI tools, I have expertise in Zapier for automating workflows, as well as Runway and Kaiber for video production. I also possess a strong background in Stable Diffusion models and large language models like Calaude 2 and GPT-4 by OpenAI. Committed to the ongoing search for innovative solutions, I focus on task optimization to enhance company operations and improve workflows. My skills further extend to generative design in Photoshop, and I am proficient in cutting-edge technologies such as Firefly, DALL-E 2, and Midjurney. With a keen interest in research, I have experience in Perplexity analysis and code development, primarily using Hugging Face and GitHub. Additionally, I've optimized sound department workflows using AI-based solutions like Eleven Labs and Adobe Podcast tools.
I would like to introduce my professional work in a few details, as listed below.
Please check out these stills from my portfolio but you are welcome to just chill on my Instagram also.
Liked to jump into Dune: Part Two for a few days as a DIT assistant to help Dan Carling and work for one of the greatest like dir. Denis Villeneuve and dp. Greig Fraser.
In August 2021, I finished working on Knives Out 2 for Netflix as a Data Wrangler in Greece and Serbia with Steve Yedlin and Rian Johnson. Starring Daniel Craig and Edward Norton.
Before that I supervised creating a Picture vehicle which is a high-speed car with seven cameras (Alexa Mini) on the top, also stabilized on a matrix head. This was the rig that we used in a Netflix production The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent starring with Nicolas Cage.
I also have worked with Scarlett Johansson in The Black Widow, and a lot of Netflix series, productions captured in Budapest like Borderlands, The Alienist, or SAS: Red Notice.
I’m so happy to share my knowledge and make others’ lives easier. I taught Erasmus students from abroad in English at the Metropolitan University of Budapest. I feel honored after teaching the Hungarian National Film Restoration Team at MTA.
As a “one man army” I had to learn directing on my own, but I'm proud that I had a chance to learn from my teachers throughout my career, including but not limited to editing from László Hargittai, Károly Szalai. lighting from Buda Gulyás, and Gábor Szabó.
Here is a list of a few selected gigs I directed, edited, and color graded on my own. All budgets were under 10k$.
Allow me to show you my editor reel here and my IMDB page.
I’m eating ACES, IMF, EXR, XOCN, and ARX for breakfast with my superior Balázs Rozgonyi at Video Assist Hungary, So please feel free to test my knowledge, and share this document with others if needed.
I’m absolutely looking forward to the future of a possible collaboration with you. I have my own remote-ready studio in the center of Budapest where I can finish and master the editorial from beginning to end in SDR and HDR up to 3000 nits. (Flanders xm310k), but I am also open to relocating to pursue new opportunities.
I would like to thank you for your time and consideration, hoping that you are interested in continuing this conversation.
Sincerely,
David
